How to Install Small Signs with Hanging Chain

Hanging chains are perfect for small signs such as open signs on your storefront window or glass door. You may also hang a small sign on a wall for permanent fixtures as a safer and more durable installation option.

What You’ll Need

First, check if you have complete materials to successfully install your neon sign. For installations on a glass window, you can grab suction cup hooks available at home or buy one in the nearest hardware store. If you plan to hang it on a wall, Grab yourself a drill with a 1/4“ (4mm) drill bit and a hammer.

●  33” (85cm) hanging chain

●  (for Windows) Suction cup hooks 

●  Screw with a drywall anchor 

●  Drill with 1/4” (6mm) drill bit

●  Screwdriver

●  Hammer

Steps to Install A Small Neon Sign with a Hanging Chain
Step 1

Prepare the needed materials in an accessible area 

Step 2

Connect the sign to both hooks.

Step 3A (For glass  windows)

Place the suction cup hooks on desired window area and hang your sign and you’re done!

Step 3B (For walls)

Drill a hole on the hanging anchor location with a 1/4” (6mm) drill bit.

Step 4

Tap the drywall anchor in with a hammer.

Step 5

Screw the nail into the drywall anchor and make sure to leave some space for the chain to hang on.

Step 6

Now it’s time for you to hang your sign. Fix the wiring based on our guide, plug in the power adapter, and make your sign light up!
